Holiday Attire Encouraged!

I found all sorts of interesting items among the Sunday paper vendor flyers:

20% off coupon at Ulta. That’s a pretty good deal–especially if you are in the market for a pricey product. The Ultra CHI flat irons caught my eye–$99.95, but with the coupon, it’s $79.96. They also shows skin care sets and it looks like the coupon works on most of those, too!

While I usually focus on career options, even career women have casual lives. Fleece will keep you warm this winter, so consider Target’s Merona Bonded Fleece Jacket. These zip-up jackets have seaming that mimics the hour-glass shape (more flattering than that over-size sweat shirt). If I’ve done your colors and you are a “Summer” look towards the raspberry or white colors. PS: Target’s Chi Air is $99.99 (but you get a $15 gift card when you purchase this one.)

Dick’s is not a flyer I usually look at, but I noticed their Columbia Kaleidaslope Jacket. The diagonal seaming is slenderizing, which is always good in a bulky jacket. While I usually recommend a coat that is longer for professional attire (related post Staying Toasty Warm), this one is great for your casual life.

Kohl’s is having a sale (what a surprise!) and the Croft & Barrow Argyle Cardigan caught my eye. If you like sweaters, this vertical argyle is slimming. Pattern tights are all the rage, but be careful because they can make your legs look heavier. I note a discrepancy in their ad. On page 4, the Apt 9 patterned tights are on sale for $6.99. On page 24, the same brand of tights are on sale for $8.99. If you are looking for this item, bring the ad with you and push back if they try to sell them for more than $6.99.

If your family members only want gift cards and you need a Santa fix, consider charities. The cedar Rapids Waypoint Wonderlad Flyer has plenty of ideas. I heard they need items for the Tweens and Teen ages. So grab some sale-priced purses, jewelry, and hand-held electronics (Dollar General has some $25 cameras or $15 music & video players). Don’t forget those less fortunate mothers need some pampering, too. Consider K-Mart’s 16 piece dinnerware set ($39.99 in the flyer and $35.99 online), Target’s hats, scarves and gloves ($10-$12), or Kohl’s bath and body products (25-35% off).

Shop wisely!
